Fished these two unbelievable rivers this week near Abingdon Va. with Carlton Oldham of Albemarle Anglers. The section of these rivers that we fished is privately owned by Riverbound which is an organization with a vision of unspoiled places and magnificent trophy fish. There was a nice caddis hatch, but the fish were not interested in anything on the surface. In the two days we caught most fish on red wiggle worms. I caught twelve rainbow trout in the two days and actually landed eight of them. They were all between 18 and 22 inches. There are huge fish in these waters, but you must fish them with a member. Contact Albemarle Anglers (the Orvis Store in Barracks Rd shopping center) if you want an incredible experience fishing what I am told are the largest trout in the continental United States.
