I fished the canyon portion of the Jefferson tonight. It had been a warm, sunny day, ideal for caddis. unfortunately, the Jeff was low, and the water temperature was nearly 70 degrees- not good for trout! there was a lot of algae on the stream bottom, and clumps were in the drift as well. needless to say, the fishing was poor.
Such early conditions do not bode well for the Jefferson this summer!!
