Fished the upper Ruby today. CFS was 175; water temperature 55-60; water slightly turbid from last night’s storm.
Fished in the am, and it was terrific. Started with dries and a nymph dropper. Caught native cuts on the dry, and whitefish, some quite large, on the nymph.
By 10, I switched to a wooly bugger and soft hackle, and fished downstream through the water I had fished coming upstream. I caught even more fish, and several in the mid-teens, including both rainbow and brown trout.
hope the water level holds!
